Etiquette

We have a few rules which help make the school run more smoothly, and would really appreciate it if you take the time to read and observe them.

Registration Please contact the school office on 020 8743 3856 to see whether we can offer a place for your child. He or she is welcome to take a trial class, with no obligation to join the school. Please dress your child in something comfortable. If you would then like to join the class, the correct uniform must be worn at all times, and the term’s fees paid. When your child first joins the school you are very welcome to stay and watch the first class. Once your child is settled, we prefer not to have parents in the classroom.
Arrival Please make sure your child is brought to class on time, since late arrivals disturb the other children who are already taking the class
Collection Please make sure your child is picked up on time. It is very difficult to get the next class started if children are still waiting to be collected 10 to 15 minutes after their class has finished. Please wait outside the studio until the class is over and the teacher has opened the door.
Trial Class You are welcome to take a trial class with no obligation to join the school. Please dress your child in something comfortable. If you would then like to join the class the correct uniform must be worn and the terms fees paid.
Parents' Watching Day Is on the last class of every term. Space is limited, so two parents only per child please.
Missed Classes due to Sickness If your child is sick you can do a different class to make up for this. Contact the office on 020 8743 3856 to arrange it. Fees will not be refunded if another class is not available or is not taken.
Uniform Must be worn for all classes; please see uniform page. Hair should be neatly held back off the face. If hair is long, it should be in a bun, if short, held back with a hairband. All clothing, including shoes, must be named.
Audition From the age of 8 years upwards, children will now need to audition for entry into the school (for the ballet classes).  This is due to pressure on places.
Fees The term’s fees include VAT. They should be paid before the start of each term. If you a new student starting half-way through the term please contact the office for the appropriate fee reduction.
Waiting List We have waiting lists for some classes; if your child is the on the waiting list we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
Giving Notice if Leaving We require half a term’s written notice (or fees in lieu) if you are withdrawing your child from a class. This is to give us time to offer the place to another child who may be waiting for a place.
