Friends of West London Dance
The charity (Registered Charity: 1088916) was set up to help with Fundraising both for School Productions and to support the Scholarship Scheme - which is an integral part of the West London School of Dance.
The Scholarship Programme was founded to give financial support to those talented students who are least able to meet the costs involved with the full development of their dance potential.
The school’s policy is never to turn away a talented, committed child who is unable to afford the fees, but this increasingly difficult.
One important part of the Programme is to encourage boys from all backgrounds to come into ballet. At present Anna has 23 boys in the school.
Currently, the Scholarship Programme provides full or partial funding to 23 children, at an annual cost of approximately £1000 per child.
This helps to pay for:
Fees for ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and singing classes
Ballet and pointe shoes, plus school uniform
Travel Costs
Fees for intensive ballet summer schools
Professional physiotherapy
